Session 1 at Clay and Sip Gold Coast Session 2 at Beautiful Things by Jasmine. Together, we invite you to experience the thrill of Alternative Firings. Session 1 at Clay and Sip Gold Coast In the first segment of your adventure, you will create two hand built vessels (max dimensions 12cm high, 10cm wide/deep), I will guide you through the steps of working with clay and learning some basic skills to make a a coiled vase . You will make 2 vases which will be left here to dry slowly. I will then sand them smooth, bisque fire. Your pieces will then be ready to decorate at session 2. Session 2 at Beautiful Things by Jasmine Select one alternative firing experience from the options listed below and book directly at your first session. Beautiful Things by Jasmine is a 45 minute drive from Clay and Sip Gold Coast at Banora Point. This second session is included in the price. There needs to be a 30 day gap before your second experience to allow for bisque firing to occur. Choose one of these alternate firings: Obvara Obvara is a 12th-century Eastern European technique that involves dipping a hot vessel into a fermented mixture of flour, yeast, sugar, and water, followed by rapid cooling. Hair and Feather Hair and Feather is a technique which involves carbonising feathers and other mate Bring a bottle and some nibbles or sip on T2 tea for this relaxing workshop. Pottery Breakage Clay is a fickle medium- I take great care in looking after all students pieces- but the nature of Pottery is that it can break for many reasons.
